This Diwali support Mitali in providing learning facility for the underprivileged through UPAY's Footpathshala centers

You were born with the ability to change someone’s life, don’t ever waste it.

The Need
Have you ever paid attention to the kids living on footpaths? Perhaps at a traffic signal, you may have noticed a girl taking care of her siblings under the bridge, or a boy going car to car selling flowers or little trinkets you never need. Those kids are just a glimpse into the life of millions of children in India who don’t have access to food or basic education.

The Solution:
The foundation of development for every society is the education of its youth. Keeping this in mind, an NGO UPAY (Underprivileged Advancement by Youth), was founded in May 2010 by an IIT Kharagpur Alumnus & Engineer from NTPC Ltd, Mr. Varun Shrivastava with the help of few young engineers from IITs and NITs.

At UPAY, we strongly believe that education is the one important tool that can transform the lives of those who were __ of basic rights. Today, as many as 8.4 crores children continue to remain out of schools. Our contribution will go a long way in improving their life. Remember, no contribution is small. You were born with the ability to change someone’s life, don’t ever waste it.

The utilization of Funds

After the pandemic, the education scenario for the children from such communities changed drastically. Through this campaign, I wish to raise funds to create a sustainable operational module for our learning centers in Sector 57, Gurugram. I look forward to providing smart infrastructure by providing devices like tablets, phones, and laptops so that children can keep pace with education.

About UPAY
UPAY was founded in May 2010 by an IIT Kharagpur Alumnus, Varun Shrivastava. Its main aim is to provide opportunities to underprivileged children and bring smiles to the dejected faces. UPAY has been registered as an NGO under Society Registration Act 1860 and Mumbai public Trust act 1950(Reg No-Maharashtra/268/2011/Bhandara) and has 80G tax exemption for donors as per Income Tax Act. At present UPAY is providing free education to 1800 underprivileged children at 40 centers across the country.
Amidst the different societal initiatives being taken across the board for the upliftment of the underprivileged and equitable distribution of wealth and rights, UPAY NGO introduces a unique multi-pronged approach of taking education to the kids through a franchise model of sorts. We develop tailor-made initiatives and programs to address the pain-points in education for different cadres of society.
